Hello, are you a sports fan who woke up on this fine Monday morning $100 lighter in the pocket with a constant scowl on your face?
Perhaps you were a Manny Pacquiao fan who finally thought Floyd Mayweather would receive his comeuppance. Maybe you're a casual fan who thought he purchased a fight and instead got a Floyd Mayweather boxing match. Or perhaps you've buried your head in the sand with hopes of watching the full fight once it becomes available on Showtime and HBO this coming weekend.
If any of these things apply to you, then you're in luck. Because we will not be discussing the fight itself at all in this space. We'll instead be taking a look at peoplemaking funof the fight in the most creative of ways.
Now, fair warning: I didnot say all of these are funny. Some of them are hilarious. Others get an "A" for effort and "C" for execution. Others should be thrown in the dumpster.
But that's not for me to decide. All of the spoofs and parodies, at the very least, get credit for putting all of the necessarywork in to garner attention. With that in mind, here's a look at some of the most notable videos and pictures floating around the interwebs.
Dan Rafael @ danrafaelespnHBO and Showtime will both simultaneously replay #MayweatherPacquiao on May 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. #boxing
Saturday Night Live
First thing: I found myself wondering how this sketch would have played had they chose to deadpan it instead of spelling everything out via the narrator.
Second thing:Kate McKinnon's Justin Bieber impression remains one of the best recurring gags on the show. The shtick will get old eventually if there isn't some variation thrown in, but for now the mannerisms still kill.
Third thing: The two actors were obviously not going to punch each other, so why not have Mayweather hold Pacquiao over and over again? It's an easy wink to fight fans familiar with Mayweather's style. Seems like the writers missed one there.
Floyd Mayweather Punch-Out
This is dope. So, so, soooooo dope. Even if the whole "Bring Back That Thing You Used to Love as a Kid" thing is tired at this point—yes, I know, it's amazing that we were all '90s kids at one point—the level of intricacy here is something to behold.
It looks like the designers actually created a modified version of the classic Mike Tyson Punch-Outgame. What makes it all the more impressive is that it was createdbefore the fight itself and was almost completely accurate.
Of course, it helps that Saturday's bout looked like just about every previous Mayweather fight in history. Still, I'd totally play this game if it was made available...for like eight minutes before I got bored and went back to my Oregon Trail simulator.
Whatever This Is (NSFW Language Warning)
This is the most exaggerated, broad, hokey performance I have ever seen. It is also 100 percent hilarious. Broad humor can be funny when it is so out there that it's being purposefully over the top.
Also: Be sure to check out the comment section for folks taking an obvious parody seriously. Arguing the accuracy merits of an obvious parody video is peak YouTube commenter.
SportsNation Gets It
Forgive me for approving of a meme, Internet Gods, but this is perfect. Mayweather is perhaps the best marketer of his own fights since Muhammad Ali, somehow selling casual fans on the spectacle and then fighting the exact opposite style that most casuals prefer. It's really amazing.

So Does Jimmy Kimmel
This is a thing that actually happened, so it's not technically a meme or parody. But a 47-year-old late-night comedian mocking Bieber is great. Kimmel previewed becoming a part of Pacquiao's entourage on his show, but it felt like (and probably was at the time) a bit. That it actually happened was probably the biggest win of the entire nightfor Pacquiao's camp.
